Special Banana Smoothie!

My bonus child absolutely loves when we make him “special” foods. Even the most simple recipes have to have something that make it different. It’s really cute and helps us get creative with his meals.

My Special Banana Smoothie is really simple.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Banana
  • Plain Yogurt
  • Chia Seeds
  • Lactose-free milk
  • 1/4 cup of Oatmeal
  • A little bit of vanilla extract

It made for a filling, nutritious breakfast and he absolutely loved it! And I did as well.

What makes the smoothie special? You might ask. And it is the Chia Seeds! It is a superfood, rich is fibers and an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and other minerals. This is great for our little ones because it helps with their developing brain, growth, their digestive system health and their bone health.

I always recommend to do your own research before bringing anything into your diet, or that of your children. That’s what I did before I gave it to my children. I have been consuming them for over two years now and it benefits me well.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. And please let me know if you try out my special smoothie! I’d love to hear any comment or feedback! ❤️

A Day In My Life

March 7, 2023

My morning starts around 6:40 AM when my alarm goes off and I attempt to shut it before it wakes up the baby. I’m going to be honest with you, most mornings I try to go back to sleep. I can’t help it! I wake up twice in the middle of the night to breastfeed so any chance I get for some extra Zzz, I take it.

Today I had no choice but to wake up though . My partner had already left for work at 5:30AM and I had to bring my bonus son to school.

I quietly went to the bathroom, but before I could even brush my teeth, I caught my daughter looking at me. Her smile melts my heart every time. I couldn’t help but go back to shower her with kisses and love.

While playing with the baby, I received a call from my partner. He calls most morning to see if I woke up on time to go to work. I thought he’d want to talk to the babies, but instead it turned out he broke his phone.

Again.

The third time in under a year.

It honestly didn’t even surprise me anymore.

I went over to the other bedroom and woke up my bonus son, Kenner. He’s four and lively!

Usually he’d be awake and sneakily playing on his tablet. But to my surprise, he was snoring away. Keilani and I woke him up and sent him to refreshen up in the bathroom while I made us a Banana shake.

I told him I made it special so he could grow big and strong, to which he replied “Like my dad!” Of course.

I left Keilani in the playpen with him and went to get ready to bring Kenner to school and for me to go to work. Time honestly flew because before I knew it, it was 7:45AM and my partner’s mother was at my door to come watch the baby.

I finished getting myself ready and kissed the baby goodbye before we left the apartment. I had to stop to put gas and there was always a ton of traffic. Luckily I left the house earlier than usual, so I was at my work desk at exactly 8:37AM. Early enough to make myself coffee and organize my call list.

Work was pretty mundane. I sold some things, but mostly just handled a ton of customer service. I tried to focus on selling, but I like my customers to have the best experience with me as well.

My midday my chest was hurting and I forgot my lunch and pump at home – of course – so I had to go home for break. I also had to pick up my birth control. With all the traffic in the city, I was left with 7 minutes to eat my lunch.

The rest of the day flew, thank God! Before I knew it, I was home with my baby, my partner and Kenner. Dinner was made, too! We all got to spend a little time together before getting ready for bed.

I cleaned up the kitchen and put away the leftovers while my partner put his son to sleep. He took Keilani with him so they could read a bedtime story. Adorable, I know! By 9:30PM everyone was in bed asleep.

Except me.

I still had to shower and wash my hair. While the house slept, I did just that. And FINALLY with some time to myself I wrote this post.

My first post.

Also the first selfish hour I claimed for myself.

Baby steps, right?

How do you guys manage taking time for yourself while having little ones at home? That’s the one thing I’ve struggled with. I get such mom guilt! Any comment or advice would be much appreciated! ❤️
